about
This song is about the loss of innocence. It describes that point in time where we notice the ugliness of the world, and how up till that time we're kind of blind to it all. Basically, me just wishing things were as simple as they were as a child.
lyrics
Take me back to the things I knew,
Before there's nothing left for me to hold on to.
It's like no-body knows how to give a damn anymore,
Behind every shred of kindness somebody's keepin' score.
I remember being blind, to all the dirty little lies,
Our poor Mother Earth keeps from children's eye's.
I remember being blind, to all the dirty little lies,
Our poor Mother Earth keeps from children's eye's.
Didn't worry bout' payin' bill's,
Gettin' hooked on prescription pill's.
No such thing as a lover's jealousy,
Never had the law commin' after me.
Wasn't thinkin' how my life was a mess,
Didn't owe a damn thing to the I.R.S.
Never told to pretend that I had class,
Or tryin' not to tell someone to kiss my ass.
Way back when I saw things differently,
Only as a child will Earth hide her disgrace,
Memories fade away, taking your history.
When innocence is gone, your just a rat in the race.
I remember being blind, to all the dirty little lies,
Our poor Mother Earth keeps from children's eye's.
I remember being blind, to all the dirty little lies,
Our poor Mother Earth keeps from children's eye's.
Time about change, time about change.
Time about change, time about change.
